We Build Company News & Project Updates

Stay current on We Build, a veteran and family-owned commercial construction company in Charlotte, NC. Here you'll find new project announcements, milestone updates, certification news, and industry recognition. We're a USGBC member, licensed in North Carolina and South Carolina, with 60+ years of combined construction experience serving Charlotte, the Carolinas, and the Research Triangle.

Most of what we post here covers commercial work, things like restaurant and brewery openings, retail and medical upfits, ground-up office and warehouse builds, and roof coating jobs through our We Coat division. We try to give straight, practical updates instead of marketing copy. If a job ran into a snag, we will tell you what we did about it. If something turned out really well, we will say so and explain why.

If you are a property owner, developer, broker, or facilities manager, this page is also useful for sizing up whether We Build is a fit for your next project. We pull from past jobs to show how we handle scope, schedule, change orders, and turnover. Press and media folks can find founder bios, license numbers, our service area, and a direct contact below in the Press & Media Resources section.

What We Cover

Recent Project Milestones We Cover

When we wrap a job, hit a tough phase, or pass a real inspection, this is where it shows up first. Most of the projects we talk about here are commercial work across Charlotte and the surrounding Carolinas. That includes restaurants opening doors in South End and Plaza Midwood, retail upfits down Park Road and out by Ballantyne, medical and dental buildouts in Pineville and Matthews, breweries and taprooms anywhere we can find a good shell with the right bones. We also cover roof coating jobs through our We Coat division, drone inspection writeups when our FAA pilot puts together something interesting, and the occasional heavy industrial or warehouse project north of town.

The Carolina region has a lot of overlap, so we post job updates from across both states. That includes Charlotte, Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Mooresville, Lake Norman, Concord, Matthews, Mint Hill, Indian Trail, Waxhaw, Pineville, Gastonia, Fort Mill SC, Tega Cay SC, and Rock Hill SC. Up the road we also post work out of Raleigh, Cary, Morrisville, Durham, and the broader Research Triangle. Each project gets the same thing: a writeup of what the building was, what the owner wanted, what we did, and what changed when we were finished. Sometimes we add jobsite photos, sometimes a walkthrough video, sometimes a thermal drone scan if that was part of the scope.

Beyond the project posts you will also see certification news, industry recognition, and community involvement. We are a USGBC member, hold active general contractor licenses in NC (#85107) and SC (#122817), and carry FAA Part 107 certification for our drone work. When we add a new credential, take on a new service, or get involved in something local around Charlotte, we put it here so clients and partners can keep up. We are also pretty active in the local commercial real estate scene, so if you see us mentioned in a CRE roundup or a chamber event, that is the kind of thing that lands on this page too.

If a story or an update is going to help a property owner, a tenant, or a developer make a smarter decision about they next build, we want it on here. That is the bar. We do not write filler, and we do not pad the calendar.

We try to post when a job hits a real milestone, like topping out, drywall closeup, or punch walk. Sometimes that means two posts in a week, sometimes nothing for a month. We would rather give you something worth reading than fill a calendar with fluff. If you want the steady drip, follow us on LinkedIn at @we-build-clt or Facebook at WeBuildCLT, because that is where the day-to-day jobsite stuff goes first. The posts you see on this News page are the milestones we think will still matter past the week we post them.

Yes. We keep a working folder of jobsite progress photos and finished walkthroughs for most of the commercial jobs we have built since 2020. If you are writing a story or putting together a property pitch and you need shots from a Charlotte commercial build, email designcenter@webuildclt.com or call (980) 471-1745. We will pull what we have, get the building owner sign-off if the project is private, and send over high-resolution files. Usually takes us a day or two depending on the project size and how many photos you need.
